Branch Manager: Lloyd Pest Control
After serving in the military, Reginald “Reggie” Fields was searching for his next career move when he spotted an ad in the paper for a pest control job. The promise of a great salary, commission, and benefits caught his eye, and he knew he had found his calling. He started as a Route Technician with Lloyd Pest Control in 1996 and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Area Supervisor and then Service Manager, before eventually being promoted to Branch Manager.
Although he had no prior experience in the industry, he chose to pursue this career path because he loves helping people. His roles have changed over the years, but one thing remains consistent for Reggie: giving clients peace of mind that their place is free from pests that can harm their health and their property.
"It's rewarding when I can help eliminate pests from a home and make it safe for families," he says. "I love what I do. There is always something new happening each day."
He is proof that hard work is rewarded in professional pest control. “I attribute my career success to my leadership team, my fellow colleagues and Lloyd Pest Control,” he says. “Lloyd gives you all the tools and opportunity to succeed. You just have to want it.”
In addition to the great career benefits that brought him into the industry, such as competitive pay and flexibility, it’s the continuing education and training opportunities that mean the most to Reggie. “I have enjoyed the opportunity to grow with the company and join other pest organizations like the National Pest Management Association (NPMA).”
When asked what advice he would offer to other jobseekers, Reggie had this to say about a career in pest control:
“The pest industry is very rewarding; it offers training and freedom to manage your route. If you’re looking for a challenge and love helping people and want to make a difference, this is the career for you.”
There is no limit to Reggie’s career success, nor anyone else’s in pest control. “I have held a lot of jobs after serving in the military,” he says, “but I can say that for the first time in 25 years, this company and this industry is more than just a job to me.”
Reggie’s story is a great example of the advancement opportunities and career benefits of the professional pest control industry. Interested in getting started yourself? Our Career Paths page has everything you need to find a path fit for you.
